Refrigerator Coming!

Woo Hoo! You never appreciate your appliances until you have to live without. I am SO looking forward to this!

That's all for now. Gotta get a few things ready...

We went through a phase where we were replacing ours about every year. It was really annoying. The last one I bought was a good one however, and is working to this day... in our other house. It was even used! This one is new, but I hope I am that lucky again.

I remember contemplating the purchase of a new refrigerator not long after we were married. I promised it, that unbought item, that I would keep the shelves sparkling like new and there would never be a crumb caught in the gasket around the door, and water would never accumulate underneath the crisper drawer.

Keeping things outside was always convenient for Thanksgiving leftovers!

How did you live without? Keep things in a cool larder like days of yore? An elderly lady I knew said when she was young they didn't worry so much about that and nobody she knew got sick from lack of refrigeration. But I think they went through food stores in a more reasonable way then.

It's just about the right temperature outside to keep a lot of our food there for now. We also have a very tiny refrigerator, about the size of a breadbox, in the kitchen. It hold condiments, and a half gallon of almond milk, and that's about it. A lot of things are simply left on the counter. We have a curtain dividing the living room from the kitchen so it stays pretty cool in there. Some of it goes bad faster than we'd like, but oh well. That will soon be a thing of the past, thank goodness!
