When I am being good with dieting I LOVE making large amounts ahead of time and eating them quickly and easily as I go. It totally helps keep me on track. Congrats!!!

Our PBS station had the cutest Healthful Indian cooking show - a sweet little lady presented it, and the key to it all was the lovely spices they use. She would have them arranged like a paint palette. I would love to get some of that masala powder and give it a go.

Me too, but from what I gather, masala refers to a mixture of spices. Chances are you already have them in your cupboard!

Must be my old eyes--the green font is too light for me to read.

I didn't do it on purpose! I tried to post a picture, and this is what came up, sans picture.

I have no interest in Indian food and do not care for. Then again never had it and do not intent to have it.Will stick to my Italian food that I loved. The Chew helps me a lot on good recipe.
Spinach ala Italian with olive oil and seasoning is wonderful ,yes cooked.
Add some almond etc.Do not care for them raw. They are sort of tough c hewing..

Maggiemae, describe your drip system and make pictures. I need to know how
this is done.

Well, when I did it before, I wasn't very scientific or exacting about it but it worked. I used it for our front yard landscaping with one main tube circling the area I wanted to have watered. If the tubing ran next to a plant, I'd insert a dripper or two. If the plant was a foot or two away, I'd insert a branch line with smaller tubing and a dripper on the end. I think we bought a kit to get us started which included a special poker that you used to pierce the tubing creating a hole into which you would either insert a branch or a dripper. Some of the larger shrubs got two drippers, one on each side. There are special connecters for that.

I'm sure there's a lot of technical detail I'm leaving out of this description, but hopefully you get the idea that this can be as simple or complicated as you want to make it. Some might want to measure their water pressure and calculate how much tubing you should have per line, or whatever. I didn't do that and it worked fine. Also, there is a special filter that you can buy to ensure that your small tubing and drippers don't get clogged. I never had any trouble but I was on city water. I highly recommend a timer as that will free you from watering worries altogether. I like the battery operated ones because I'm somewhat technically challenged.

It's definitely worth the trouble! Good luck!

The Aloo Gobi sounds delish, even if it does sound like something little kids make down by the curb along with mud pies...

It does, doesn't it! Basically, it means potatoes and cauliflower, though I can't remember which word means which thing.

The Indian dish sounds so good!
I didn't know about spinach being better for you cooked. We eat a lot of it around my house...steamed, cooked, wilted. But I still eat it in salads raw.

It's nice to learn something new, isn't it. If you don't have arthritis, it probably doesn't matter which way you eat it. Enjoy!
