Love As Much As You Can

Welcome 2013!

With all the doomsday talk of 2012 behind us, perhaps now we can get on with the business of really living. Though Hubby and I never gave much conscious credence to the 12/21 predictions, I have to admit that it hovered in the background of our psyche. Or maybe it was just that life as we knew it really did come to an end. Too many changes to list. Feeling a little more settled, I'm optimistic that 2013 will be the beginning of life as we hope it to be.

We're off to a good start. We're finally together in the same house at the same time. I've got a good jump on weight loss and health goals, (nine pounds and counting!) Though we're still living rather primitively, about 80% of the hoarding blockade is removed. I'm feeling the spark of friendship possibilities. MIL is safely cared for in her new digs. Our daughter has been thriving in her new environment, and the friends she's made are ones we can feel good about.

It's sunny outside, always a good mood brightener. I've got gardening on the brain. I used to start preparing in February when we lived in CA before. Not sure when the last estimated frost date is in this location. I'll probably start some seeds indoors soon. We've got some green onions growing on our compost pile right now, and herbs left over from last year. This is in spite of the cold and gross neglect. Think what we could have if we actually worked at it!

Change is sometimes hard, but can be really wonderful! I'm feeling that now. I think it's going to be a good year!

My vegetable will go in the holes Rex digs. He is like an earth moving
machine.

I hope he digs where you want him to!

Rex is digging up the yard so that dictates where the tomatoes and zucchini
go.

Garden planning is so much fun. I start vegetable seeds inside here in Las Vegas where the bright sun encourages them, and then take them to Colorado in the car, and hope the nights are warm enough for a good harvest.

Watching old movies from u tube last week , one was the POSTMAN about a disaster on earth that was bad enough. Cath loves her small garden all flowers--sweetpeas along the fence --holly hocks each side -- then there's the pelaganian and geraniam bushes all round.
NO vegetables though with the high cost of water its cheaper to buy them

I used to grow strictly flowers too. Love all of those!
