My renter arrived Thursday as we were scrambling to finish last minute details. My friend accused me of being "finicky-pinicky when I re-grouted some of the bathroom tiles. Perhaps, but I'll never forget what Miss Manners said about bathrooms. She said that they should look as if no one has ever used them. Mission accomplished!
By the time we were done the house was about as pristine as a hundred year old house can be. My list was long, but we did even more than I would have thought we could do in two weeks. My only regret... That I didn't get to install two pieces of trim in the closet of the second bedroom. I guess i'll just have to live with it...or, uh, SHE will have to.
I think my new tenant was pleased. She liked the colors of the walls and all the remodeling we had done. She is a self proclaimed neat freak so I felt the standards needed to be pretty high. I'm just glad that we'll have that much less to do in the spring when we're getting it ready to sell.
I'm now happily back at home with Hubby and daughter and kitties. I flew in this afternoon and boy am I glad to be back! especially that we're here together! It's been a long time coming. I'm looking forward to feeling like a family in this house. So far it has seemed that Hubby and I just take turns being single parents of our daughter.
