Today has been a good day, it was relaxing, exciting in parts then back to relaxing again. Im sipping a super large mug of hot chocolate while watching Godzilla for the Godzillionenth time! The true makings of a great film; it don't matter how much of the script you know off by heart, the predictability never wears thin. Look out next week Robocop is on! :P
The weekend is over for me now as tomorrow i'm going to be time keeping and scoring in the League tournament. Setting out at 8.30am, after picking up the squad we should arrive in Cardiff by 11am fo a good 7 hour shift. It doesn't seem like much, but it's the consistant focussing - fast paced scorring which can tire you quickly. It isn't unusal to see most scorers dependent on caffiene suppliments to stay alert. One ofthe reasons why there has to be at least 2 maybe 3 officials scoring the same bout,as it's so easy to miss a point being awarded. Oh the joys!
Another disadvantage is that while im time-keeping I won't be able to take photo's of our squad. Theres been a few occasions before where I missed lots of opportunities to snap the winners and publish the new images for my websites. I've asked so many people to help out, but no-one ever has been reiable or even if it's just to send copys to me. I'll just have to be a little more forward and insist on consistent rotation of the scorers. In the last event, was time keeping all day without a break. My brain was numb by the time I got back home.
My youngest son James 7 is competing aswell. This is his second league tournament. He just missed out on a medal in his last comp. He took it well considering he has zero tolerance for loosing! He's been practicing hard all las week, I hope he does well, he'd be so pleased with himself. He needs a little confidence boost.
Well like Mr French quoted in Godzilla, it's time I *Step on it* and get myself to bed. Must remember to set the clocks back an hour - darn daylight saving plays havoc with everything. Laterz x
