Coming of Age

When your children enter the big old adult world there are somethings you have no control over, like what career you kids choose to take - to maybe what relgion they opt to follow. But at least these things can be changed if you have achange of heart.
For about a year my eldest son has flapped about getting a tattoo and has left his imagination run wild to some stupid extents; each time we've had to remind him ''this is for life mind, it has to mean something to you son'.
Most of the time it felt like our warnings fell on deaf ears, but we turned heads knowing at least we tried, we ca't do nothing more than that.

Well out of the blue, Joss asked me, 'what about your design Mum'? I said whaaaa?!?! My design was something I doodled in school, I never believed he would use mine. He said you mean more to me than aything. Awww!
I didn't think about it again until last week when he kept reminding me he was getting 'a' tattoo done today.
Next thing I know, he phoned me and told me he had a tattoo and said he used my design. He said he modified it, but it was to show how much he loved me. I broke down when he came home and showed me. I was so touched.

The design was modified in that they removed the arrow, birds and spray, and replaced it with the words 'designed by'.
I'm glad, because he put his own mark on it, and I tell you what, he filled my heart with all the soppy warmth you can find. I'm so touched! Joss loves it, he's happy he picked something that will always mean something to him. I think he's getting a Box jellyfish next that wraps round his entire leg, apparently next to him, it's the second deadliest thing on th planet LOL
