Making Progress

I had a lovely nights sleep, no disturbances and NO SCRATCHING! Can you believe they found out I was actually alergic to morphine! The only pain killer that does the job I couldn't have. Apparently my husband brought it up after I came out of recovery. He told them I had a reaction to something because it wasn't me to act like I did. I don't remember any of it, but he said I was scrathing like a dog infested with fleas LOL. I was given all sorts af anti-histamines to combat the itching but it wasn't until I got home that I took 3 one day benydrylls to cure it! Kill or cure as they say!

I was in alot of pain yesterday and spent the majority of it crying! I think alot of it was to do with the anesthetic and sheer tiredness. The nurses were waking me up every 15 minutes because my oxygen levels kept dropping.Nightmare! The physio's - well!!! If I had the energy to pick my crutches up and smack him round the head wth them I would have. I didn't even have the energy to answer him. I did my bit and sat an cried to Mom.

I came home and felt much better, away from all the ballyhoo of 'Ward life' - Ward life still sux lol. I didn't get up to much, just took more pain killers and went right back to bed!

I woke feeling like a million bucks today! I really couldn't believe it. My leg didn't give me any trouble through the night - I slept right through. I managed to walk on my bad leg - the same exercise the physio wanted me to do yesterday. I managed it and it didn't hurt. I have to use the crutches though, but it's more than I expected myself to do, because yesterday I thought the task was impossible and that I'd never do it; but look, I did it. Im happy with it.

It's now time for the exercises then followed by 'Ice treatment'. Talk to you soon.x

There's nothing worse than not feeling well. I always think 'this is it, my life is ruined, I'll never feel right again' and then I get better and all is well. Here's hoping you put it all behind you quickly, and never look back.

Tell you what I wouldn't wish it on no one! I never want to go through anything like that again. I can't wait for my mind to block it out for good!

I am soooo glad of this 'good news' update!

I have been hesitant to phone or text you today, 'cos I wasn't too sure if, you might be sleeping ( I didn't want t disturb you).

When we spoke last evening (after you had a kip) you still sounded tired and in a world of your own - basically, I knew you needed more 'sleep'.

Oh I felt so sorry for you in the hospital (this time yesterday, I think actually). I really thought you were in for a rough night

Well happy, that you have got rid of the 'itches'

Love you, mum xxxxx
