Wow! an Actual Weekend!

Well this was my weekend off. Except for working Midnight to 8am Friday night, I had a very enjoyable weekend. And even that shift wasn't bad. I had about an hour of cleaning to do, then was able to knit and watch movies for 5 hours before getting everyone up, giving showers and making breakfast. I got SSSOOOOO much done in that 5 hours compared to trying to knit at home with kids running around (Yes, I'll say it before anyone else: DUH!!! lol)
Brian's (my BF) older daughter turned 18 this last week, so we had a small party for her Saturday night. We cooked on the grill and had a campfire with S'mores. I was going to make a cake, but she said she wanted the s'mores instead, and hey, lots less work for me!! You gotta love it when kids make it easier for you, they don't do it often!
Brian's nephew also turned 2, and there was a party Saturday afternoon that he took the kids to, but after working overnight, I stayed home and took a nap in a nice, quiet house.
Sunday I took the kids school supply shopping. OMG they need stuff that I never even heard of when I was in school (if they were even around then lol). Flash drives?!? Dry erase markers?!? When I went to school, we needed pens, pencils, paper and folders. Cost me $40.00 and that was mainly for 1 child. The 15 yr old won't get his lists til the first day of school, in high school each teacher has specific items they need and they don't publish them in the newsletter like they do elementary school.
On a low note, the yarn I needed is discontinued and I can't get anymore. So last night, I pulled the whole thing out. The way I did the blanket was with 2 strands held together on a large needle. The yarn is a nubby boucle yarn, with pink green and blue all blended together. My new plan is to find those three colors in solid yarns and use those in stripes with the boucle to re-knit the blanket. Separating those two strands was a pain, they kept getting tangled. It seemed to take longer to pull it apart than it did to knit it!!!

Sorry about your yarn, but the new plan sounds really pretty. I tried to unravel something done with nubby yarn, and finally gave up.
