And no, I don't mean from knitting. Just from blankets. I found some yarn in my stash that perfectly matched son's winter jacket, and couldn't resist making a hat. Figured a hat would give me a day-long break, and it is soooo nice to finish something quickly sometimes.
Took longer than I thought, though. I found a pattern, that while it wasn't my first choice, he LOVES it. I think he gets it from his brothers. You'll see what I mean below in the pictures.
My first attempt at double knitting. The original pattern was not double knit, but between the pattern and some great videos on YouTube, I think it came out bretty good for a first attempt. I had to adapt everything little, because I despise "Finishing" a project, and then having to FINISH it by sewing seams, etc. So I did this on DPs. Did A LOT of tinking, but finally finished it last night. Now to catch up on laundry, lol.
I intended the blue to be the outside, but he decided the white was the "right" side to wear out. I love the double knitting. It's very thick and warm, and to top it off, it's reversible!!
Now I can't get him to take it off!! I had to bribe him to get the pic of the blue side!
