About Me

Hi all!! I'm a 30-something mother of 4, ranging from 15 years to 2 years. Needless to say, I'm very busy. This doesn't count my 25 hours a week working, or my job hunting efforts. On top of that, my boyfriend (who is also the father of my 2 youngest ones) also has three other children, one grandchild, and another on the way. So that means that with his, mine, and ours, we have 7 kids, and 1.5 grandkids. I love to knit, I am addicted to Facebook, and don't have enough time for either!!!

Well, 2 down, one to go. I finished the second one, and it actually came out really neat. I'll post pictures in a day or two, but the blanket came out diamond shaped. Guess that's what happens when yo...
Thank god the weatherman was right for a change! He predicted that the temps were going to be lower this week and, surprise surprise, they are!!Last week was awful. We have one small air conditioner f...
I have so many reasons to hate my weekend hours, and many of them start right here at home. I usually spend most of Friday picking up after kids, vacuuming, and so on. Then, after working 16 hour shif...
Well this was my weekend off. Except for working Midnight to 8am Friday night, I had a very enjoyable weekend. And even that shift wasn't bad. I had about an hour of cleaning to do, then was able to k...
I just made the coolest thing with Visual Basic. Since most of the patterns I knit are from online, I made a row counter that sits right on my desktop!! This way I don't have to worry about my kids lo...
And no, I don't mean the week! 120 rows sounds so much smaller when you're decreasing 1 stitch every row rather than adding!!I am into the second half of the middle panel of Nitti's Shetland Shawl. It...
Well, can you really call it a weekend when you work? When I work, my weekend sucks, because I work 8a-midnight on Saturday & Sunday. So basically I don't see my kids from 9p on Friday until Monday mo...
Ok, so my job in general doesn't suck, but the miscommunication is awful.A little background: I work in a group home taking care of 4 ladies with developmental disabilities. That part of my job I love...
I'm about 1/2 way through the middle section of the next blanket. In case anyone is wondering, my avatar picture is of the wedding cake I made for yet another niece when she got married in May. I foun...
Well, after discovering that I know 4 people who are having babies within 2 months of each other, I decided to start writing about my efforts to make blankets for all of them before they give birth. (...
