Friday was hard, as stated before, but the rest of the weekend was pretty good. Saturday I dropped my Kraymer off to get groomed in the morning. Then we went to a free training class about kids and dogs. It was very interesting! It's amazing how clueless we are as owners. We hope for the very best but if you can read dogs (which I am starting to learn how) you can see in many of the pictures of kids and dogs (like the famous how to hug a baby series) there are SOooo many things that could have gone wrong! Yikes! It's kinda scary when you know the gist. Everyone thinks their dog is fine, which in many cases is true, but we fail to realize that dogs are dogs and tolerance is not happiness. Tolerant dogs can only be tolerant for so long... Interesting stuff indeed...
After that I went to my part time job to fill out paperwork. What a cluster f--- that was. The person I was supposed to meet had gone home sick, the other 2 managers on duty had no idea where my paperwork was and were really bad at trying to find it. After a half an hour of nothing happening I said I would contact my person on Monday and go from there. When I was almost to my car I heard my name being called out so I went back into the store. They had found my stuff. After an hour and a half I was free... it should have taken a half an hour at the most! Cripes. A sign of things to come? Hope not.
After that we chilled at home.
Sunday we went to a winery where one of our fave animal rescues was bringing puppies. SOOO CUTE! The place was packed and a lot of fun. After we had a tasting and a glass of wine we decided to head home. I then thought it was a great idea to stop in for a late lunch at our fave watering hole. Silly Kristy. We ended up staying far far too long! It was a lot of fun though regardless.
Tonight I start working at the part time job. I am totally feeling as though I am giving up too much of my time (which I am!) but I am TRYING to keep focused on the good. During my paperwork fiasco on Saturday I got the employee handbook which was filled with RULES RULES and MORE RULES. I hate retail. A lot. This week when I am there I will be watching orientation movies and reading binders that I will be tested on after. Good times.
There is also a rule about smoking on the premises. I thought that was ok, I could bring nicorette, but then there is another rule of no gum chewing. Aaaaaah I really hate retail!!!
Oh well. It'll be worth it in the end, right? Hope so.
Happy Tuesday peeps!
