R and I are back from our mini road trip. We had a BLAST and met many new people! We stopped at a winery on our way to our destination - it was an amazing winery! They had about 15 wines to taste and it was FREE! Good times indeed.
We arrived around 1:30. We drove around a bit and stopped in the quaint downtown area. It was fun - we found a bar to eat in and had a couple tasty beverages. I was talking to the bartender, asking if he liked living there and asked what he thought about it in general. It's a good way to learn about a place! He was really nice.
We then went to the hotel to check in.
After that we went to an Irish pub. We talked to a guy sitting next to us - he said it's not a great place for 30 somethings since there isn't too much to do for our age group. Interesting to hear. We then started playing video crack and a cook who works there started helping us, along with our new friend we had been talking to. It was a lot of fun indeed! Then we all decided to play shuffleboard. I was J's partner and R was M's partner. J and I won! WAHOO! I don't play shuffleboard so it must have been beginners luck. :0) We ended up staying after the bar closed with our new friends... and our friend J called us a cab - he said it was his friends cab and he was telling us how this friend has "car"eoke. We of course asked about that as soon as we stepped foot in the cab, and dude totally hooked us up! He had a microphone, the DVD or whatever to show us the words (on the backs of the seats) it was just too freaking cool and funny...
We woke up late this morning and I had totally forgotten that R had worn contacts yesterday and left his glasses in his car, so he spent the morning quite blind. It was comical. We had the hotel call us a cab to get back to the car, and I was talking about the cab driver from the night before. This cab driver knew the one I was talking about and said he was the entertainment! haha
Overall, the visit was impressive. The people were all so very friendly!!! It was good times indeed...
I am glad I had a furlough day today. I wish every day was a furlough day! HAHA just kidding, but I do enjoy them.
It's a Monday!
