New Work ...

Finally. Back to larger paintings, using larger brushes, and painting the way I like.

No more tiny paintings. No more Socialist Realism.

Back to the way I painted when I was in art school and sold a ton of them. I have finally reached a point since I began painting again (two years ago) where I'm having fun and doing work I like!

I happened to catch the TV Olympics thing today. I didn't even know they had begun. I only watch news when I can and baseball whenever the Indians are on, which is usually 5 nights and one day a week. The rest of the time the TV has cartoons for Bisbeebird or his damn CMT channel with howling country music (although some of the girls are really not 'country' country,) and I enjoy ballads. Bisbee loves it.

So the Olympics used to be a big deal but I don't think as many folks care about them anymore. With all the doping scandals and the way they have interjected so much politics into the games' atmosphere, I would rather watch Batman re-runs.

Lovely painting, Jon. The statistics on viewers of the Olympics, however, is way high according to media reports. I watched the gymnastics and some of the diving but my interest has waned. However I think it's more of a been there, done that, kind of thing and I am very distracted these days with daily chores.

I love the colors in this. I wish I could think/see like this.

I like to watch the Olympics, but I do wish there was "less" commentary and no "predictions". Just film the games and quit TALKING so much. We'll be able to see who did what and who won what.

Is this an Ohio landscape? I lean back and the light from that orange sky looks real. I like it.

Love your new bigger painting! Of course, my favorite painting of yours is in your first wife's diningroom.

Being a longtime competitive athlete, who worked so hard to reach the national tier, I am a huge Olympics fan, enjoying every minute of the competitions I can see. Close to 60 million Americans are watching with me, too. The games to me are about the athletes, and their achievements are stunning to watch and so inspiring!

I was never a fan of summer olympics, now winter olympics is more my style. when I was little I would pretend I was Peggy Fleming skating figure eights.
