We are in the gun sights of another winter storm blast. Just what we need, of course!
It started snowing an hour ago and is coming down in spades. I would guess the rate is an inch an hour or more. The ice/freezing rain line is just south of Route 30, which is about 25 to 30 miles south of here.
I would rather have snow than freezing rain or sleet. The latter breaks limbs and power lines.
Today our photo show judge arrived from Austin, Texas and I spent most of the afternoon and early evening with him in the gallery, judging what got into our show and then choosing the award winners. It was a tedious and exacting process. I kept my opinions to myself, as I am the show coordinator and he was the judge and juror.
Donald Winslow is his name. He flew in to Cleveland today and will hopefully get to fly out tomorrow morning.
Here is something about Mr. Winslow, who really impressed me as being a top-line judge for our first ever photo competition (we had 163 entries!)...
Donald R. Winslow of Austin, TX, is the editor of News Photographer magazine for the National Press Photographers Association. He's been a photography editor, writer, page and book designer, and journalist for more than three decades, and he's covered the White House, Capitol Hill, and major league sports and the Olympic Games for Reuters based in their Washington, DC bureau. He was also the director of photography for CNET Networks in San Francisco, as they developed and launched seven Web sites and four weekly television shows. His newspaper career includes The Palm Beach Post, The Pittsburgh Press, The Milwaukee Journal Co., The Republic in Columbus, IN, and The Wabash Plain Dealer in Wabash, IN. He lectures on photography at the University of Texas at Austin School of Journalism, and has taught photography on location at Franklin College in Lugano, Switzerland.

Tomorrow I MUST be back at the gallery. I have to organize the pics that will be hung on Wed. and Thursday (by me) and bring back the information on the ones that will be hung and the award winners. Then I have to make the cards that I will stick on the gallery walls next to each photo.
Lots of work.
Then On Thursday I will hang them up, affix the cards and get the gallery ready for Saturday's grand opening at 6:00 pm.
Aside from this I have a design project to complete this week.
One of these days I will find some time to paint again.
