The US population as of July 2007 was estimated at 301,139,947.

The US Treasury wants to print 700,000,000,000.00 more dollars to save the financial institutions that got us into trouble by loaning on bad mortgages and the Wall Street robber barons.

Whoa!

Instead of the Treasury's scheme, let's do this:

Divide up that 700 billion among every man, woman and child in the United States.

That would equal $2324.50 each!

A couple would net $4649.00.

A child would get a head start on a college savings account.

Some people would be able to avoid foreclosure.

I would be able to catch up on bills, have a Christmas tree this year, and get a haircut!

Even the government would make out because about 200 billion of the money would flow right back into the IRS from taxes!

And even the creeps who caused all this would get a share, so they won't have to stand in the unemployment line after their brokerages go belly-up.

(I'm only kidding, but it would be fun, wouldn't it?)
