We made the typical June trip down to the cellar last night just before sundown. The TV blared warnings and tornadoes were rotating everywhere. A great squall line was tearing into the area from the Indiana border and I obey warnings.
This is Ohio.
I scrambled down with the laptop, my wallet, checkbook, phones and keys. Then I went back and upstairs to fetch Bunjii, who is in recovery from a serious operation. Next, I pushed the other four felines through the door to the basement stairway. Last, I got the parakeet cage off the living room hook and down we went.
The wind fetch was awful. Through the basement windows I could see the redbud in the back yard trying to stay attached to its roots. Then we got penny hail for twenty seconds, followed by a burst of straight-line wind carrying heavy rain.
In twenty minutes I let the cats back out of the cellar, took up Bunjii and the bird. I went back for the goodies later.
I always take my ID, checkbook and the computer when we cower down there. My life is in those articles.
The cats don't mind the cellar. They had faces covered with cobwebs. The bird thinks it is some kind of routine we follow ever late spring. It actually is.
They were all pretty quiet by the time the second round hit. It was mostly lightning and downpours with no warnings. No more watches.
Today it is 20 degrees cooler but very humid until the front passes later today. It is a relief from the nineties we had for a solid week.

BUNJII:
Update Tuesday.
He recovers. He is bored, but with an entire large room I think he feels all right about that. I allow Rosie to visit him every day and they are siblings. He has a good appetite.
in New York never bothered me. Had to come to Florida to fear
for life, limb, and housing. Still reading your posts for full
