A Minority Of One

House ...

TV's HOUSE is in its last season. We'll see it on replays for decades, of course. I hope Hugh Laurie stays in LA and does more TV. He is a brilliant actor. I followed him on the BBC series where he played the twit who had a smart butler. The HOUSE series almost made me fall in love again - with the lady hospital administrator. And the series taught me a lot about medicine, especially Vicodin abuse.

The painting series is in full bore. I am going to Hobby Lobby over in Findlay OH today to get two more big canvases. They are not on sale, so I printed two 40 percent-off coupons from their web site. Uncle Jim is making the trip with me, so I will use one coupon for one canvas, and send him with another to the next checkout line with a canvas and coupon. One coupon per customer, of course. Expedience.

My cats a chuffed that I am spending so much time in the studio here. They wander up, check out what's happening in the back yard by snugging up to the window, watch me occasionally, the wander back down stairs. I have a rule up there - no abuse in the litter boxes while the human occupies the room! Just in case, I have a can of OUST close at hand. Lemon scented.

The Tiffin Art Guild photo competition and show, which is my 'baby,' is a great success. That goes for the quality and attendance. As for financials, it was a disaster. I figure we came close this year to breaking even, but we are a non-profit, which often means we lose cash throwing shows and events. Public service, you know. I started the event last year. This is our second one. The display in the gallery is great-looking. (Pats his own back.)

All my cats are fine. None are ill. I have a constant nose drip. It has been here since October. I am thinking it can't be fatal, so I just keep lots of Kleenex handy.

Chicken Cordon Bleu tonight. I have some nice big boneless breasts, some thin-sliced honey ham, and a good supply of cheeses. Maybe I'll coat the chicken with Panko and bake them. The cats will love the aroma and the leftovers.

If any of you think it reads as if I am a steady heavy drinker, you're wrong. I joke about it a lot. I am lucky if I have two or three drinks a week and I never ever get loaded. I like to be in 'control,' and getting poop-faced is not my style. I just can't paint when the brush and canvas are spinning.

It sounds as if life in Tiffin is about as exciting as my life in Dallas. Happy Valentines Day!!

Congratulations on persisting with the art shows. I live on allergy pills.
With our windy climate, most of us do. The cats are so sweet. I really
miss my China. She had Rex bluffed.

I would have that "constant nose drip" if I didn't live on allergy pills. I think I'm allergic to cats.

Wasn't the Brit series Hugh Laurie was in "Jeeves" by P.G. Wodehouse?
Glad the cats are well. Re. your nose, don't ignore. My recent daily fever, etc. disappeared after I got nasal sprays that reduced sinus inflammation. What is Panko? (I have so much to learn. )

Yes, Stephen Fry played Jeeves and Hugh Laurie played Bertie Wooster in the British take-off on the well-loved novels of P.G. Wodehouse, which also played on PBS for several years. What a duo!

Panko is breading, usually made from rice. Japanese originated. Available in most supermarkets. Very light and not so starchy.

Ah, life in Tiffin. Sorry about the art show "no-shows". Our library puts on a great exhibit. I usually spend around $100 on something small. Glad the cats are fine. (Is it "none are ill" or "none IS ill", as in "not one is ill"?)
