I am in a no-bet football pool. Well, not exactly "no bet." The winner at the end of the season gets a free dinner at a fine restaurant that we will all go to and chip-in for his or her bill. We are a real cheapskate bunch who like the sport. There are twelve of us in this foolish thing.

So far this year (no pre-season games) I am 13 and one! That is four games on the win column better than the next player!

Last night the Packers beat the Bears 23-10. I had the Packers 24-10.

Am I a good handicapper, or what?

We go with the 'spreads,' so in some cases even if your team loses they can 'win.' It is a feature of betting that some people don't understand.

For instance, last weekend I took the Browns over the Eagles. The Browns lost 17-16, but they beat the 6 point spread that favored the Eagles.

I know this sounds awful but I wish there was cash involved now, because I think I have become a pool genius.
