Awoke Dizzy ...

I woke up this morning with the room reeling as if I had too much to drink. That isn't the case.

Does anyone have any idea about what caused it?

It was several hours ago. Now I can sort of feel the thing is still there, but it is background. If I suddenly turn or spin, it comes back for a while.

I have no pain. Hmmm?

I had some skewered steak with onion and pineapple chunks for dinner last night. Half a glass of red wine. Nothing else.

This has been happening to R. I am going to try to make him go to the doctors STAT. Speaking of which, did YOU go yet? Hope so. Thanks for posting this.

Inner ear infection? Vertigo? Sometimes my meds cause it...

Wow. You are taking this so calmly. It would scare me to death!

Sounds like a touch of vertigo. How are you feeling today?

Maybe a sinus/ear thing from allergies like hayduke says, but I know you'll be watching for it to happen again. Best wishes.

I posted a blog about my dizzy experience on Blogster a while back. Woke up one Saturday with room spinning. Only lying down helped, then it would come back. Got to the emergency room, they sent me to the hospital. Because I was "of a certain age" they suspected a stroke, but tests
proved okay. They pronounced that I had "vertigo" (no s...)
and gave me a muscle relaxant to reduce stomach spasms and an anti vertigo medication was 25 mg of Meclizine (whatever that is) and I was okay after that. However, they don't know what causes it and speculated it might be a virus. Get yourself chcked. Please.

It could be many things.Middle ear balance.
Hope that it is not going to be Menier disease
Are you hearing impaired?this has alot to do with it.
Fluid in your middle ear can cause this.
I will contact your doctor and do not wait too long.
This could be the start of something.
I know for had this and turned out Menier's.
Lost my hearing and had vertigo for many years off and on.
Not it has stablized in the last year.
But the damage is done. This started when in the service.
Lost the hearing in my right ear and the left ear is
way down and the hearing aid help some.
So,checked this out,and keep tab on it.
Good luck.

You're not going to believe this, but the same thing has been happening to me for some time now. It comes and goes throughout the year. It first began years ago when I moved back to CT from Maine. I panicked and ran to my doctor who told me that it had to do with pollutants in the air in CT. Sometimes taking Claritin or Allegra helps.

Could be an inner ear infection, or Meinere's (sp?) disease, or just plain stress. Take it easy Jon, and if it keeps happening, get yourself to your doctor or the VA if that's where you go.
Antivert is the best med for it, but you need to rule out an infection first. I was inpatient for it at my campus hospital in my last semester of grad school Mine was an infection exacerbated by stress. I'm hoping you feel better soon. Oh, I almost forgot, no drinking until it's completely gone...

Is it a blood sugar imbalance?

I take an 81mg aspirin with my two meds soon as I awake, but I just took another 81mg. Couldn't hurt.
