Lucky Dog

If you remember my last post (which I almost do) it was about a lump Benny had on his head above his right eye. A month after the vet removed that and a tooth the lump came back. The vet was very concerned since it should have been permanently removed, so he prescribed another 10 days of antibiotic and it worked like a charm.

Perhaps there was a bit of infection left the first time, who knows, but the big guy is doing fine now. Too bad there's no cure for old age. He's 15 and that can't be treated.

I see what you mean about the look in Buster's eyes. Don't let him fool you - Gertie was smart as a whip but very good at hiding it. She too had a heart of gold. Glad to hear that Buster is on the mend. Those infections above the teeth are sneaky and nasty.

They look like the best friends a person could have.

You can see intelligence when Benny looks at you. Buster not so much, but he'd give you the collar off his neck if he thought you needed it.

Your post reminds me of that song about old dogs and children and watermelon wine. I wish that dogs lived a lot longer. Rex is nine and
like a child to us.

Yeah, Donna doesn't quite understand my attachment to Benny, but he's been through a lot with me. He was barely more than a pup when I got him.

Glad the follow-up treatment worked. Give both doggies a hug from me.

Mmm--sounds like some old people here "Too bad there's no cure for old age, and that can't be treated."
At least he is still here and letting you spoil him!

Yeah, he's spoiled. I save all sorts of pan drippings and liquids to flaver his gravy train. He loves to eat as much as I do.
