It's been awhile since I've posted, but if I've commented on your articles you know I'm still around. Not much had been going on and every now and then I'd have a thought about blogging but I'd be on the droid which is a pain to type on so I wouldn't post. But here's the short story.
The truck crapped out again last Tuesday. I had brake problems last September and over the past six months almost everything in the breaking system has been replaced, but the problem still occurs. All four wheels lock up and it takes all the power the 8.1 liter engine (very big) hast to drag the truck a few feet. So, it was hauled off on a flatbed on Tuesday and I haven't heard a word about it since. They seem stumped.
Ugh, this post wasn't supposed to be a whine, but my almost new Acer locked itself up the other night. Windows 8.1 supposedly has uncrackable security but the problem is that I hadn't been using a password so it shouldn't ask me for one. The shop wants $125 to reload Windows and that seems to be the only solution. I filed a ticked with Acer to see if they'll do anything under warranty which is all but expired. But they are supposed to be respectable, so they my at least give me a reload as good faith.
Tomorrow I'll be starting a slow 7-day prep for a colonoscopy. I'll still have to drink the magic fluid next Sunday evening, but aside from stopping certain meds, they recommend a diet that's easy on the gut. Makes a lot of sense to do it this way. My last prep wasn't very good even tho I follow the instructions to the letter. The diet is mostly the crap I eat anyway (unhealthy stuff) minus tough meat and raw vegetables. White rice instead of brown and things like that: potatoes, but no skins.
Each doctor seems to use a different drug during the procedure and some people actually claim to be awake enough to watch the screen. That has never been the case for me although I have usually been "comfortably numb" as the song says. That was always my favorite part of the procedure. This time they plan to give me propofol which is "lights out" in seconds. The scheduling nurse says that some people are in the recovery room asking when things will get started. So, I'll make the best of it either way.
As you probably know, the northeast was hit hard with snow this winter. We still have a foot on the ground and the mounds that plows and shovels built are still alive and well.. It snow flurried today with a high of 33 so winter is far from over. I suspect that there will be traces left when April begin. Fortunately I have enough wood to go long beyond my target for the last fire of 4 April.
Both the boys are getting old but still doing well. Me and Benny walked three miles round trip the other evening to get him a rabies shot. He did very well. Better than I did I suppose since my knee is really killing me. I'm thinking about losing a few pounds but it hasn't progressed past the thinking stage yet.
Not much is really going on. Plans for 4C Camp for Adults are under way and Walmart had seeds on sale in January so I'm ready to plant when weather permits at the end of May. LOL Yeah, we have a very short growing season.
Y'all be good and stat healthy,
