Another Colorado Flood Video

If I understand the geography of the area, this video was shot in the same canyon where Laura lives, but further up from her place. Looks like no place is safe since the force of the water can create landslides.

That first video is 10 miles downstream from me, where the river is coming out of the mountains onto the plains. It is just east (downstream) of that video you posted yesterday. The other video shows the Poudre River, north of here. Once the flood started, the mountain towns were almost immediately cut off from the rest of the world (for weeks to a months depending on which town it was), and the TV stations couldn't get in there to film and/or broadcast. The weather was so bad that no choppers could fly for several days, and then once they could, only rescue copters, not the news people. Standing on the ground, it was hard to understand all that, even though I still had TV (thanks to my generator), but the news stations didn't want to admit that they didn't have their finger on the pulse of the news, so they never mentioned that they were closed out of the area. The flood news was continuous on TV, and I recorded two networks, and watched one live in case one of them would have something the other ones didn't. Eventually, there wasn't anything new until Army choppers could get in to rescue people. I watched closely to see how much luggage they were allowed to bring, and whether they had their pets. The pets were as important as the people, and that was reassuring. The rescue statistics even kept track of how many dogs, cats, etc. were airlifted out.
