Resurrection

We're on our feet again. Julia had pneumonia. I had flu. Jennifer caught some undetermined virus and Sofia appears to be the only strong one among us. She weathered right on through the storm.
Here's a picture of the flu virus:

It was good to get back to work. I'm looking forward to being in church again tomorrow.
I need to Google something when I finish here. Today found me raking leaves and wondering why. Why DO we rake leaves? I know that if too many of them are left in one place it can kill the grass. I'm just not sure why we rake all of them. Then, there's the issue of how to dispose of them. I kinda miss the burn barrel days.

Spare me the evironment speech. I know why we no longer do it and I'm on board with the concept. Besides, this neighborhood isn't exactly rural. hehe
Additionally, the moles have taken over parts of the front yard now. They've owned the back yard from Day One. I need to get serious about removal or someone will twist an ankle and sue us, or something like that.
As you can tell from this internet photo, they're mocking me and my efforts:

That's all for now. We're meeting my family for dinner tonight at a local restaurant. Have a great weekend everyone.

glad everyone is feeling better. We have bunnies all over the place here at Shady Pines. They like to crawl up under cars and chew on wires. God only knows why.

Leaves!! There is a wind tunnel effect that comes down from Hilltop road
and makes three of our yards catch them all. I racked leaves yesterday
and today I have a sinus infection. It is my new warm day occupation
So glad you are better. Poor little Julia! I bet you were really
worried.

I was worried! I'm grateful for a very good pediatrician. I have several piles of leaves I'm slowly disposing of. We've got a wind tunnel of our own as well.

Glad to hear everyone's well again.
I wonder if I could still knit with nails that long.
comment by nittineedles on Jan 17, 2015 7:48 PM ()
Marg, you could knit without any hands at all. I'm sure you would find a way. Probably with your mind! It would be like moving to another level of zen knitting.

We've got a bad mole problem over at that red cabin, and it seems worse since the flood: there are many areas where the ground caves in when we stand on it. I was hoping the flood would have wiped them out.
comment by troutbend on Jan 17, 2015 4:39 PM ()
I would have assumed it had wiped them out as well. Interesting.

It seems you are beset with rural problems. I hate getting rid of troublesome animals if it means they will be killed or come to harm. The outfit that removed our possum released it in the wild in a wooded area of many acres.

That's very humane.
