I'm amused lately by the various blogs I peruse here on MyBloggers. Everyone seems to be so sure that his or her political party and political candidates are the remedy for what ails our great nation. If they don't view them as the cure-all, they at least see them as better, by definition, than anyone working in or near Washington these days. Apparently, they think things must necessarily get better with change. Any change. On the other hand, others are scared to death that change will be negative and that everything is just fine. Hmph! Well, you're not going to read what I think about all of it in this blog. That's for sure. I simply don't want to get involved. I see how the conversation immediately degenerates into a name calling, mud slinging, free-for-all and frankly, I have better things to do with my time.
It's just amusing to see the firey reactions of so many whose opinions are criticized or whose political views are questioned. Politics are important to me. It is what makes the country go 'round. But honestly, I don't want to isolate any part of my readership here by aligning myself with one side or the other. The polite and friendly conversation is too enjoyable to taint by broaching the two subjects that have always been considered off limits to true gentlemen: religion and politics.
Despite the fact that I am the pastor of a church, you'll seldom get a religious or political judgment here. There's room in this sand box for ALL of us to play happily together. And I truly hope you'll stop by often.
