Thanks to all of you for your kind remarks in my previous post. A general response to all seemed more appropriate as well as an update.
We were required to spend the night last night at the hospital, a move I still chalk up to the doctor just padding the hospital's coffers. He's a big wig there and we are Americans with LOTS and LOTS of money (so they say). It was hot last night, no AC. Our last visitor from the congregation left after 11pm. Dear souls.
At 10am, they wheeled her in and got to work. By 11am, she was out and recuperating, a little groggily, I might add. While the doctor performed the D and C, Jenn's father called to say that some ladies in his church had put some money together to pay for Jenn's mother to fly out here on Monday. That was very kind. A bit unnecessary (Jenn's words, not mine), but very kind, nonetheless. The gesture speaks volumes of their love and respect for Jenn and her family.
While Jenn tried to sleep, I intercepted visitors at the door and entertained them out in the hall. She didn't sleep much last night because of the pain.
I had been warned by some misinformed, concerned folk that this would be worse than labor and that long periods of rest ensued. All was bunk and nonsense. The doctor came in at 3pm and said, "Go home when you want. Do whatever you want. No bed rest necessary." We were overjoyed, as he had earlier indicated that she would be there until 7pm. She was itching to get home and get out of that hot hospital room.
We are currently seated side by side on the couch doing our favorite thing...(shame on you!) surfing the net. I wonder if she feels like having a coffee drink at our favorite place?
We're excited about trying again. Thanks for all your kind thoughts and prayers.
PS: The bill was $640.00. Not bad, huh? I costs more to get a car fixed and takes longer.
PPS: No analysis. The doctor advised against it, stating that it wouldn't reveal much of anything at that early stage (5weeks) in the development.
