Congratulations, Democrats

Congratulations on your win last night.
I was going to write several paragraphs expressing how I feel about it all, but it got complicated really quickly. I just don't have the heart to go into all of it. If your "Messiah" can restore my faith in good government, it really WILL be a miracle. The last sixteen years of Clinton and Bush have left me so disenchanted with both Democrats and Republicans.
I will say that so much of the harsh criticism leveled at Republicans is, for the most part probably true. However, it is EQUALLY true of the Democratic leaders as well. I shake my head in amazement every time someone starts foaming at the mouth attacking Republicans. Too many times, I could just replace the name of the Republican with a Democrat and the story wouldn't change one whit.
However, all of this is simply a symptom of what I see as a deeper, graver problem. For me, it's an indicator of just exactly how far our nation has fallen.
Rejoice and revel, Democrats. I'm hearing you all over MyBloggers. If your man's experiments with our nation succeed (and I hope to God they do), I'll be very surprised. Frankly, I'm scared.

The economic crisis, the war on two fronts, all of it is scary but we just have to live in hope that we can once again fix America.

I think Hayduke put it as well as I could. We have had our share of greed, corruption and deceit. Let us hope we have elected a man of honesty and integrity.

Jeremy, I'm not scared. However, I do have a healthy mistrust of all politicians, on both sides of the aisle. There are very few politicians that I respect...I think the last one was Jimmy Carter.
I believe that Mr. Obama will change things for the better, simply because things in Washington could not get much worse - again, I'm speaking of people on both sides of the aisle. Greed, corruption and deceit have no political parties, just as honesty and integrity do not.
