Every week my son has a spelling test on a Friday at school. We get a note in his homework diary the next week as to how he scored.
On a Monday you get the 10 words to practice and try and spell each evening in preparation for the test on Friday.
A couple of weeks he had 7/10 then last week he had 9/10. I told him he'd done well but wondered which word he'd struggled with. His response, when asked (and when you think about it, logical too) was that it was the one with the cross beside it!! Doh indeed it would... I am still none the wiser as to which word it was as he went on to elaborate and tell me that it was the 5th or 6th word, whatever they were!! LOL
I guess the one thing we can take from this is that I need to think about my questions more as children really do just answer exactly what you ask them.
