I am still trying to get mine and my kids heads round the fact that their Aunt and Uncle have broken up after 10 years. I think it had been on the cards for a few months but on Friday night they finally came out and said it to one another. There is no one else. The reason is that they had grown out of love. They grew up together, got together when they were just 17 and have evolved as people in that time but unfortunately they see no future together other than best friends.
They had been disagreeing on everything for awhile but when they were in London for a few days a month ago they had a great time as there was none of the day in day out shit happening. But they realised then that they were having a great time as friends and nothing more.
I am really sad about it as he is like a brother to me and my kids adore him. In fact he is Godfather to my middle child. We are obviously all going to keep in touch and try and see him as often as possible. This will hopefully be made easier considering the fact that they are still speaking to each other. Time will tell though.
