Money Grows on Trees!

....Or so you'd think the way we have been spending recently!

Nothing has been essential, just makes things nicer around the place. On Saturday DH was away early taking the car to get serviced - it was going to take 3 or 4 hours so he hit the shops! It is a wonder any of them are still standing.  So he bought a t-shirt each for the kids and a pair of cord jeans for himself from Gap - ok so they were all in the sale but none of them were really needed. He told me he was sorry but couldn't find anything for lil' ol' me. Cest la vie. I scored the weekend before with a new hoodie and polo top.

Sunday was no exception. We had been thinking about this for awhile but my vaccuum cleaner really had seen better days. It was more into blowing than sucking up the muck around the place. Nothing ever looked like it had been vaccuumed! So we went looking. Via a sofa shop!

Yip we saw a corner unit we like - again not really needing as there is a little life left in our 10 YO shabby three piece suite - but still it is ok to look. We popped in next door and saw two chairs - the rounded ones you often see in hotel lounges - with matching footstool. Now they didn't match the sofa but we were thinking that the fact the colour went then they would work well in a deliberate mismatched kinda way. After humphing and hawing we walked away. Back on the course of the hoover shop.

Just inside the door was a poster for deals on large TV's. Yeah you guessed it DH was now thinking *we NEED a new TV* . Now, like everything else there is nothing wrong with the old "brick" that we have apart from the size and the fact it looks so dated when you see the new slim LCD ones.

I poked him and said "whatabout ma hoover?" I got "yeah, yeah, let's look at TV's first!"

I was now fearing I was going to have to say to visitors something along the lines of ........ *don't mind the state of the floor what do you think of our great big fcuk off TV?*

After spending 10 minutes in awe of these beautiful black TV's I managed to get DH to move in the direction of the Vaccuums. He thought we should spend what we needed to to get something decent. He thought Dyson - fine by me. But looking at them they are real silly money - £300 for a vaccuum cleaner - I think not! We moved round the display and found the Vax range - they look nicer than the Dyson and reading the specs of the machines loads better and far less money. We decided on the Vax Mach 6 - all singing all dancing (even has a head light - a freakin' hoover with a headlight - now my muck has nowhere to hide!) more gadgets than Bond! What was even better was that this hoover had £50 off making it less than half of what a Dyson would be.

Vaccuum decided DH skulked back to the TV's. The buy now pay in 12 months was on all Tv's over £500 - he fancied a Samsung 37" - we deliberated and ruminated for another while, the boys sitting watching some Sky advert on the display TV's. Eventually he talked me round.. The TV arrives on Thursday at some point - to say he is like a dog with two tail is an understatement.

We got home and unpacked the Vax and got it going after doing 3 loose rugs the dirt chamber was full!! It has a 2 litre chamber so it just let's you see how bad our old one was!! My floor and carpets look clean for the first time since they were laid  - now I am the dog with two tails!

Back to the TV. Having spend a small fortune on the TV DH now thinks we should get the corner sofa to make the viewing of the TV even more enjoyable. So yes, last night we went and ordered the sofa and I think he is going to get the free standing chairs today. 6 weeks and the sofa should be here and then we can tighten the belts and start to save as the sofa is also on a buy now pay in 12 months!

We have only (I say it like we are flush and money is no object) spent £1000 and have a new sofa, TV and vaccuum cleaner and a little amount of change - enough to get me an Avalanche icecream from, KFC!

Your spend it like water gal pal
