I have had no time to do any real blogging for ages. I have been over the head of late with fund raising for the school, a local hospice and now we are starting to fund raise to redevelop a local children's play area.
The hard work is proving to be worth it though. As Chair of the PTA all eyes seem to land on me to see whether something succeeds or fails. With this does come some sleepless nights and the feeling that you have to bake till the early hours just incase no-one else can be bothered to do anything. As a result our coffee morning was a rip roaring success where we raised a little over £800. I can now smuggly stick the middle finger up at all those back stabbing biatches who were waiting on things failing!! This comes on the back of the balloon race which brought in just under £400 after deductions and prize money.
The Hospice fundraiser is this Sunday in the form of a garden open day. There will be a bake sale and other stalls. So bake bake bake is what I have on the agenda between now and Sunday. So far I have made Shortbread (albeit well fired - I'll price it cheap!! :P) and a double batch of gingerbread biscuits. I hadn't attempted them before and as a result I am pleasantly surprised by the way they have turned out. :D Fingers crossed we don't get rain and peole actually turn out for the occassion.
As for the park, well until we have some plans and a budget we can't really do major fundraising or apply for funding. It will be great though when it is done and we can all feel a little proud to be helping out he local community.
Hopefully won't be so long till my next post x
