Last night DH and I sat down to watch a DVD. It was one he's added to our requested titles list from the online DVD rental place we subscribe to. Normally his choices consist of Vampires, Zombies, Ghosts, Paranormal blah blah blah - generally stuff that falls into the "I am so pissed they charged me £3.50 for that sh!te!" Last night was no exception. The chosen title was "Vacancy". It starred Kate Bekinsale and was the usual you get lost, find the only place with lights on and end up staring death in the face! It was up there with "Wrong Turn" and the likes for the "I have wasted 90 minutes on that!" Well really 45 as we watched it on double speed where you still hear the dialogue and have time to read the subs!
DH moans about the movies I watch but at least they have a little plot about them - granted some of them are just slushy rom coms - but still leave you with a glowy kinda feeling without having you jumping at every creak or footstep you hear after dark!
I remember when DH and I first got together we would go to the cinema at least once a week. Often it would be to see a horror. This was all fine until I had to drive home. DH stayed in the town and stayed a further 10 miles away in the hills! The road goes through some quite thick wooded areas, a cemetry, open moorland and not many houses. You can imagine the way I drove once my mind started working overtime. It was a case of pedal to the metal, interior light on so I could see no-one was gonna jump on me from behind etc. it wasn't long before I told him that if we were going to see these films then he would either have to let me crash at his or he would have to come and stay at mine.
Hopefully we won't get any more of his choices for awhile now!! LOL
