Happy Birthday America

Good 4th of July, MyBloggerstown:

Hope you and yers are having a fine ol' time celebrating the anniverary of our nation's birth. Here at Shady Pines we are planning a cookout later today. Hamburgs, hots, smoked sausage on the grill and all the potato salad and baked beans you can stuff in yer face. Watermellon and s'mores for dessert.  I'm hoping the weather will co-operate. It's kinda cloudy now but as long as it's not actually raining, we should be good to go.  We decided on this cookout because a) we wanted one and b) some people have no fam damilies or anywhere to go on the holiday.  so we thought we'd be nice for a change.  It should be a good time for all. Yers truley will be doing the honors at the grill. So if you here on CNN about a massive outbreak of ptomain in Cow Snot Wyoming, you'll know the reason why.
My next door neighbors have returned from wherever it was they were. The noise hasn't resumed yet but I know it is in the ofting.  They've been gone for a coupla weeks and it was just shy of heaven around here.  Now its back to bid'ness as usual I 'aspose.  Ah, well.  I guess I could be having to live under a bridge with the rest of the trolls.
So, here I sit at 11:41 am(MDT) listening to classical music and blogging. I have begun to read the book "Game Change" the best selling tell all about the last presidential election.  Its quite interesting so far.  Mebee it will give me some hints, some do's and don't's for my upcoming campaign fro Grand Imperial Poobah.  I am still weighing my options but I'm getting the feeling that America is really ready for change this time and that yer average Sam and Samantha Schmuck are sick up and fed with both the Jackass Party and the Pacyderm Party. I know I am.  Ya know, I had such hope for President Jugears. He's been a real disappointment to me and I'm sure to many others.  I wish the American electorate would wake up and stop electing these  stupid, unprincipled, greedy, corupt, political hacks and find someone of sound virtues to lead our nation. That's where I come in.  I am a SMART unprincipled, greedy, corupt, political hack.
So America on this, the most patriotic of our national holidays, take a moment and ponder the state our country is in. Then, by God, you'll know what to do.

Have a happy Fourth everyone.

You still got my vote lady!!! I hope you enjoy the cookout. Are there any veggie burgers in the mix?

unfortunatly, if I'd cooked veggie burgers, there would've been a major mutiny. I have tried the Morningstar Farms burgers and they are not bad and would pro'ly taste great grilled. This is ranch country however and you know how that goes.

It is now 9:30 PM and just sitting at my computer desk looking out my window(s) I can see the fireworks on Fort Lauderdale Beach, downtown Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood Beach and from our own The Point-- at the same time watching TV and the fireworks from Macy's in--NYC---amazing!!

verah cool.....just after we got our cookout done it began to rain here so they canceled the fireworks. Might have them tonight as it looks as if the weather has cleared.

I blame the members of congress for our political ills, more than the president, because they all seem to be looking out for their own personal agendas, which appear to be getting rich and making their friends rich.
