Point One.
I guess like many of us I spent some time watching OJ get sentenced yesterday. I still don’t understand just how much time he will spend in prison but according to one report there is a good chance he will die in jail.
Good, I have to admit I wanted him to die in jail, just not of old age.
Is this justice served for his past sins? No. The judge made very clear it wasn’t. But I bet it was a shock to Mr. Simpson to find out he was a human and had to pay for his actions.
Point Two.
Yep the automakers asking for money is still on my mind. One thing that is pissing me off is the media making the UAW the villains. The people in the UAW are your neighbors. All they wanted was the American Dream. Good working conditions, good wages, insurance. They take that money and buy houses, shop at Sears and Kroger’s, send their kids to college-do the stuff we all want to do.
What they don’t do is design cars, sell cars, or make business decisions.
Should they make some concessions- Yes their stake in this is big, They need to become partners with the Big Three.
But did you know that on average management at the big three make more than management at say Toyota. Are they taking cuts or making concessions?
Point Three.
When the bankers on Wall Street started having money problems we (read our elected officials) couldn’t wait to throw obscene amounts of money at them. And as I see it, there has not been a lot gained by us giving the suits in New York all the money and more they asked for. Can you get a home loan? Can you even restructure you home loan?
But when it comes to helping to save real jobs in small town America? Our elected officials seem to have lost their way.
And no I don’t want to hear that it will be all roses and cream when Mr. Obama takes office. Sorry.
I need more coffee.
