The
best laid plans of mice and men .... I had the whole day set. I had a
free pass to the Regal theatre and was going to see Matthew McConaughey in "Ghosts Of Girlfriends Past" but, though I really enjoy looking at him, I don't remember the last half decent movie he was in so
looking at the movie schedule I decided to go see the 12:20 showing of
"Earth" which meant I would have to leave here around 11:45.
I was sitting at my computer at 11 AM when there was a knock on my door and it was Cookie. The rider
who was going to take her to the cruise ship--she is going on a cruise
to Monte Carlo free teaching water color painting--had to cancel so she
asked if I would take her. Though she couldn't board until the
afternoon she would go now being the nice guy I am I said okay. Long
story short--by the time I got her there, got back, uncovered the birds
and fed them it was after Noon and too late to make the movie.
I
decided to do some follow up on the shingle vaccine--I really could
write a whole blog about that--take my advice in that if you plan to
get it start now and you might get it before you get
shingles--making a longer story even shorter the outcome is that I had
to mail the prescription to a drug company who in turn would mail it to
my doctor who would then call me to come and get the injection!
About
12:45 I decided I would go ahead to the theatre and even though I hate
to walk into a movie that already had begun, let alone playing almost
an hour, "Earth", being a nature film, wouldn't make a difference and
then, since it started a half hour later I could see what I had missed.
I
won't review "Earth" except to say it has to be seen on a movie screen,
not a TV screen no matter how big it is. Being a nature film it is
spectacular, funny, dramatic, heart breaking, heart rendering and
awesome.
I had 30 minutes in between the end and the beginning of the film so looking over the schedule I saw "Wolverine" was starting and decided to look in at it as I am a Jackman fan. Within 15 minutes the old Village Men song, "Macho, Macho Man" was going through my head--the 'team' sure worked out for this movie!! :O) After 15 minutes I had enough and went back to "Earth".
Afterwards,
since it was in the same shopping center and I had a coupon :O), I
decided to have a late lunch at Sweet Tomatoes. I was going to invite
Gino and/or John but I knew the film was something they would want to
go to plus with both being on a diet I didn't want to tempt them with a buffet because they are weak--like I'm not! LOL
I
got home after 5 which means finding a parking spot would be hard but
there was one waiting for me. Did I mention that I know have two cars?
Allen's until Tuesday and Cookie's until the 15th. Just having them,
even if I don't use them (but I will! LOL) gives me a great sense of
freedom.
Tomorrow I am planning to go see Michael Caine in "Is Anybody There?" out west which normally it being a Saturday and
the theatre way out west (actually near where Allen lives) I wouldn't
be going.
Hopefully it won't be another one of those days!!!
