The last 4-5 weeks I have had trouble
breathing--some times couldn't catch breath other times very shallow
breathing--it didn't/doesn't seem to have anything to do with being active or
not.
I am suppose to go to the pulmonary doctor this
coming Monday so I went to my primary last Thursday. I have been taking 20mg of
furosemide,
which is a diuretic, and he, being concerned about fluid on, around, my lungs
had me go take an X-ray which I did this past Monday. Meanwhile he increased my
furosemide to 40 mgs. One of the side effects, mentioned a
few times, is unusual dry mouth or thirst. I have been having both to quite a
degree this past week.
Along with everything
else, and I think it has to do with the breathing, I have been having trouble
getting to, and staying, asleep which in tun has sent me back to the
tranquillizers but they seem to be of very little help. Right now I am dead
tired and can hardly keep my eyes open but I am hesitating about closing them
afraid I won't be able to sleep tonight.
Really don't know what to do but I am trying to hang
in there until Monday when I hope, but doubt, I
will get some answers from the pulmonary doctor.
Meanwhile I am going back to 20 mgs of furosemide,
will try to NOT take tranquillizer this evening to get to sleep and NOT call
911, even though if I did go to the emergency room they might find out what is
wrong and treat it right OR I will see 25 doctors and none will have the answer.
Think I will hold out until Monday and hope, just
hope, the new doctor will have some answers instead of sending me back to
cardiologist.
