It is amazing that a film with a top rated director, Ava DuVernay, a smart cast led by Reese Witherspoon, Oprah Winfrey, Mindy Kaling, the beautiful Gugu Mbatha-Raw, a seasoned 14-year-old television and movie actress Storm Reid, a too good looking for his own good 15-year-old Levi Miller plus handsome in his own right Chris Pine, along with 11 year old Deric McCabe handling a difficult role making it look easy, among others, can make such a boring movie!
It starts off with exciting special effects, startling, glittery makeup and costumes for Witherspoon, Winfrey and Kaling, a screenplay by Jennifer Lee revolving around a father missing 4 years being transported to another universe that combines expectations of a really involving, emotionally breathtaking film that quickly becomes a one too many makeup and costume change, way too many special effects and a story that just doesn't move you.
'A Wrinkle In Time" doesn't quite make it for adults and at some points will be too intense for the young ones while teenagers may laugh at things said and done that are already old hat to them.
Though it is early in the year "A Wrinkle In Time" will be in the top 5, at least, of the most boring films of the year.
