The coupon said "Buy 1 entree get second of equal or lesser value free--value
up to $10"--it meant only dinner entree of which there was only 1 item
$10 or under. Another negative, that being in a large shopping center,
with no address visible and a small sign of the restaurant it wasn't
that easy to find. (For locals it is in the Office Depot/Dollar Tree
plaza.)
It is a combination of self-serve and service, not really a dining place and, in all probability
sells more pizza slices than main courses. With all that said it is
neither good nor bad but like hundreds, maybe thousands, of other pizza
places in Fort Lauderdale.
The
portions are large, the sodas are self serve and as much as you want
while the utensils are plastic though the plates are NOT paper. With
the main course you have a salad and garlic rolls which are served on
one plate. Allen had the Chicken Marsala & Spaghetti and said it
was good in spite of it having too many mushrooms though he ate
everyone!! One item I judge an Italianrestaurant is by their Linguine with White Clam Sauce. While the clam sauce was served on a big heap of linguine it was obviously canned clams and though there was a hint of garlic this is a dish that calls for a lot of garlic!
With
the $10 off coupon the meal, with tip, came to $24 which was a fair
price for the meal though I prefer sit down service all the way and
'real' utensils and a real glass. With, or without a coupon, I probably
won't return to Vito's Pizza as it was mediocre.
To
add a highlight to our lunch right around the corner was a Cold Stone
Creamery--and, yes, I had a coupon! :O)--so we had a chocolate mint ice
cream with white chocolate chips and off we went!
