A Visit from the Birds While They Are on Vacation!

If I didn't know it was Spring and/or Easter I would know just by
walking into my apartment now. Jill's birds are visiting me for awhile
which should prove interesting--especially in the morning!

Of the visiting birds Andi, above, ring neck,
may be the only loud one as compared to the tiels and budgies though tiels can get a little loud and 4 of them in the same room may increase the
noise.

DANIEL (LEFT) AND ALEX
(ALEXANDER) ARE THE TIELS

OLIVE (BOTTOM) & MR. G  THE BUDGIES

I allow the tiels out of their cage
for 5-7 hours every night while Jill only lets her birds out for a few
minutes at a time. My birds don't have their wings clipped while hers
do. I cover my birds cages when I go to sleep and take the covers off
when I am ready to feed them which is usually an hour after I get up. I
generally don't hear a peep out of them the whole time they are covered.
I am curious to see how they react to Jill's birds in the morning who I
am sure will react to the sun coming up. (And then of course how I will
react!!! LOL)

My Cassie and Lola stayed away for about
15-20 minutes before they decided to visit, Daniel, Alex, Mr. G and
Olive. I did keep a close eye on them, as birds,  budgies especially,
can be aggressive and I didn't want and missed toes. Don't know whether
it was instinct, survivor of the fittest possibly, but they didn't visit Andi!

While
Jill's birds eat mainly a seed diet my birds get a teaspoon of seeds as a
treat in the evening and basically live on pellets and a brown rice
vegetable mix. I certainly won't change her bird's diet but I will add
another dish of the veggies mixed with pellets to their cage in addition
to their regular seeds and hope curiosity will let them give the new
food a try.

My
only immediate  concern is how all the extra birds will affect the
problems I am having with my eyes. My optometrist has already asked me
to get rid of the birds I already have because he feels they are the
cause for my burning, stinging eyes but I have sort of ignored him. We
will see what happens.

Welcome to the house of birds where it is
Spring and Easter all day, everyday, and I am just hoping quiet in the
morning!  :O)
