Quote from a review of a play, "Completely Hollywood"---'Never let facts get in the way of a good movie'.

*******************************************************

Just saw that Kate Winslet will be starring in a remake of "Mildred Pierce". Why do they remake
classic movies which very seldom even come close to the original? I love
Kate but she can never be as 'trashy' as Joan could!

*****************************************************

Don't
remember when I first heard about it or from who or even when I first
started doing it but I have been doing it ever since--last thing I do at
night before I go to bed is rinse my mouth with a mixture of salt and
peroxide. Just think about it and you will understand why.

We have finally stopped having 'feel like' temperatures of over 100--it was only 'feels like' 96 today!

I am really disappointed in the lack of response to the GREAT GAY AUTHOR series. I was hoping that  younger gay bloggers would read it but as it is there are very few gays who post blogs here
let alone comment on blogs. They certainly don't address gay issues. And
there is a whole history they don't know about.

I, also,
thought, with all the writers that blog, they would be interested in
writers who have won all the major, and many minor, award from
Pulitzers, Tonys, National Book Awards, etc.

More
than one blogger has expressed their love of reading and here are books
of all genres, fiction, nonfiction, some already classics, written by
writers listed among the best.

Hopefully more people will read the series or tell others about it.

"George
Bush took a surplus, gave tax cuts to the wealthy in the name of
creating jobs, and only 3 million jobs were created during his 8 years
in office.

So,
remember we tried giving a tax cut to the wealthy to create jobs and it
just made some people richer and the rest of us, and the country, a lot
worse off"    Helen  Berkach

*****************************************************

At some blogging sites posters seem to be in wait for a newbie and then test them to see how 'tough' they are. The majority of bloggers aren't looking to be 'beaten up', or treated negatively, and,
consequently, after a few weeks they get tired of all the nasty comments
and take off to other blog sites where they are treated with respect,
or ignored, no matter what they post. I don't know what the 'old timers'
are trying to prove but I have seen many good, interesting and/or
different bloggers leave a web site because people don't know about etiquette or manners.

There should be a moritorium on harassing new bloggers for at least 90 days.

Comments:

I know what you mean about remaking classic movies. I don't mind when it is going to add something to the original, but when the original is so perfect, why bother?
OK ... not getting the salt and peroxide....
That is terrible about the ganging up on the newbies at other sites. I can't say I am surprised considering how I know some of the people you are talking about.
I have been appreciating your blog on gay authors. Most I have heard of so it is interesting knowing a bit more about them so I do appreciate the time you are putting into them. I don't mean to make you think that I am not reading them because I usually don't comment.

The salt peroxide rinse keeps your teeth white and kills the germs accumulated around your teeth all day---the first thing a dentist tells you when you have swollen gums or have had a tooth pulled, etc., is to rinse with salt water.
That ganging up is raelly getting bad over there--I was sort of concerned when one of the evil twins registered here--even warned Eddie but she has stayed away.
Glad you are reading the series--so far have written about th better known writers--will soon get tto the newer ones.
