Boulevard to a small island city that was only distinguished by the fact that it
was surrounded by water and only approachable by bridges. It was mainly a middle
and lower middle class neighborhood and the shopping center where George opened
his bar was, basically a strip mall.
Jump ahead a couple of years and Wilton Manor is now a city where theythe bar
in town and, in turn, he brought other businesses into the shopping center and
the whole area became very prosperous. It now claims to be the third biggest
community of gay people after New York and San Francisco and there are over 12
blocks of stores, bars, offices (including one of the main social security
offices,) boutiques, restaurants and, oh yes, a need for parking places. (the gays) came in, bought the old homes, redid them and raised the property
values of the whole city. George's Alibi became a show place and
It is also the scene of the Gay Pride Parade every Spring and has had a gay
mayor and commissioner and people come from all over the world to visit this
'island city'.

Any doubt that this is a gay shopping center? Just
look at the names of two of the stores: Bottoms & Tops and Out!!!
