When
I started blogging 4 years and 9 months ago--for those who are keeping
the records---one of the first things I talked about was how lucky I was
(am) to have found the Gateway Terrace residence. It is made up of over
20 buildings consisting of studio apartments, small, large and 2
bedroom apartments. (An aside; the two bedroom apartments are for
married people--is that making a statement about marriage?) There are
close to 300 people living here and all are living in a residence backed
by H.U.D. The requirements are to be over 62 and, for single people, to
make less than $14,000, and for couples less than $26,000.

I was very lucky to have found this place, first moving into a small bedroom apartment in 1999 and then on my 17th Leap Year birthday moving into my current large bedroom place. I have a good roof over my head , food in my stomach,
surrounded by water, trees, yachts, million plus dollar homes, a
fantastic pool over looking Karen Bay and, in most cases, nice people
for neighbors.
If my 'search' ever works I will post a few past blogs showing views of the grounds, gardens, flowers and trees.
Seems since I had to get rid of my birds in desperation I have been talking to my plants and it looks like that old wife's tale
is true as they are growing like crazy--take a look at the pictures
below, especially the plants on the right and left which I have grown from sticking a small bit in a pot.
Here are few pictures looking south from my living room windows.
The following pictures were taken yesterday on the walkway from my apartment to the elevator.
