Respecting Other Bloggers

From an article in today's paper regarding "Educators find that teens use ethnic slurs" is the following:

Alexander Adams has his limits, too. The 17 year old senior said he would never call a gay friend a fag which "is more offensive than racial slurs."

Sadly, kids learn from their parents and/or adults around them. I know of two bloggers (one here, one on another site) who use all kinds of slurs. One is a Republican WASP who shows disrespect to anyone who isn't exactly like them and has been censored many times for the pure hate he shows to different groups while another claims he is just 'being me'! And, sadly he is helping in raising children who will think it is okay to call women the 'B' word, Blacks the 'N' word, Muslims the 'TH' words and so on. He even boasted the other day, in a blog, how he scared a kid for years and ruined the kid's childhood by doing such things as spreading human manure all over the kid and yet, when he met him years later the kid, now an adult blanched upon seeing him and yet the blogger didn't apologize or even seem to feel guilty, like it was a big joke. In so many of his blogs he shows that he is a bully.

As gay man I dislike the 'F' word and told him a long time ago that it is a sign of disrespect towards me and, yet, he claims he likes me--you don't like someone one and disrespect them.

He gets  lot fewer comments now than he did awhile back in spite of his trying make 'nice' to a few gay bloggers.

Whatever happened to 'class'? To manners? I am not talking about being politically correct, I am talking about NOT teaching another generation to hate, to bully but to teach them to respect people who may be different than them.

What floors me are the people(women, gays, etc.,) who pat these bigots--because that is what both bloggers are--and bullies, on the back and accept their disrespecting them by even commenting on their blogs--is it any wonder kids in high school use slurs toward each other and accept it as the norm?
