HOT! HOT! HOT!Whether
you believe in global warming or not you don't want to come to South
Florida to find out it isn't true! Since June 1 the temperatures in
South Florida have been over 90 degrees but with the humidity the 'feel
like' readings have been over 100 degrees for more than 75 days. We are
in the middle of 'rainy season' but so far it hasn't been too bad. It
did come pouring down this afternoon for about an hour and we did feel a
drop in the temperature and humidity but we aren't having 'cool' wave.
The water, whether in the ocean or the pool, is still too hot to dive in
and cool off.

Only nine days until the Aug. 24 Florida primaries, and we know what that means: It's open season on gays.
They're an easy target for Republican candidates courting the conservative vote, which is why a resurgent Bill McCollum not only defended Florida's outdated ban on gay adoption last week, but said gay foster parents should be outlawed, too.

For those of you doomsayers who declared the death of books in the Internet age, I have news for you.
Web-savvy authors are actually tapping social media to boost the sale of their books.
Some writers are scoring book deals after
growing an audience through social media. Others are bypassing
traditional publishers completely because they can sell enough print or
electronic copies of their books by promoting them on social networking
sites. The success stories are comparable to those of musicians and
celebrities who gained a following through MySpace and YouTube instead of relying on agents and production companies.
