will get to in a minute. Jill and Shirley went up to Washington D.C. for a few
days and Jill asked me if I would mind feeding her birds and fishes and
Shirley's cats for which in exchange I could use her car. I would have said yes
in any case as Jill took care of my birds last year when I went for my aorta
valve operation.
Jill has 6 birds--there is Java who doesn't like males, Andi a rescue bird
that she has had for a few years but is still skittish plus 2 cockatiels and 2
budgies. And then there is the fish tank. All in all easy to take care of and
though I know better there is the temptation to take the birds out of their
cages and play with them but I don't/won't. Good thing I can't take the fish
out!!!
After Jill's place I go to Shirley's and there is Pepper
and Boodles both very much cat like and cat acting. I've never been into having
cats as a pet but have had fish, dogs and birds. Folks, there is a HUGE
difference between fish and bird poop or even taking dogs for a walk to poop
then there is cleaning litter boxes and scooping poop!!! As I've said I have a
new found respect for cat owners and what they do for their pets!! LOL
Pepper is a 'stray'
that Shirley took in and he is still a little shy when it comes to people but
just in two days he seems to like me. Boodles, the first time I met him, came
over for what I call the cat rub--pressing against your leg. All in all it is
fun getting to know them.
Okay, folks, it came with a vengeance. After 16 days
with feel like temperatures in the 100s last night it dropped down to the 70s
and it isn't that much higher this afternoon but, oh, does it feel good after
all the heat and humidity. It will be climbing back into the 80s by Tuesday.
I don't believe my clumsiness as I get older. I went
to water the plants on the sill and after having it for over 20 years I broke my
"A Chorus Line" dish that comes with a music box playing "One". I received it as
a present--it was a special edition put out by Avon--and it is now shattered
into pieces but at least the music part still works.
That's it for now--I have to get into the car--ah,
the joy and freedom of having a car--and go feed the birds, fishes and
cats--and, oh yes, clean the litter box!!!!!
