Pastrami & Corned Beef & Blood Pressure--oh My!

(Yes, Alfredo, a lot of blogging today--remember I won't be blogging for 2-3 weeks next month!!  LOL)
Had to go to my primary care physcian today for blood work as my PT (warfarin--blood thinner) count was low the last time.
As usual the nurse wanted me to get on the scale to weigh in--I told her to go VERY slowly moving the bottom weight down as I knew I had a good weight loss--as it turned out I lost the 11 and a half pounds I had gained at the last weigh in! All I had to do was cut out sweets for the two weeks. I am going to be careful the next few weeks as I do want to lose as much as I can before the operation.
Then she took my blood pressure--it was 90 over 50 which is low for me as it is usually 110 over 70.
Now I must tell you that I like going to my primary as there is a great deli right next door to the office and I treat myself to a sandwich AFTER I see the doctor. Of course with the low blood pressure reading I knew I had to have a pastrami & corned beef sandwich on rye heavy on the mustard with extra sour pickle spears and, naturally, a diet soda to raise the pressure. :O)
Needless to say the doc knew nothing about my going in for the operation and since he will have to do the preop work I thought it would be nice for him to know--now I have to get after the surgeon's office to send him the info.
My insurance agent is still on vacation so I have to wait to hear/decide what will happen as far as rehabilitation after the operation goes--IF I can arrange to be in a facility for 2 weeks or so I think that would solve all my problems.
Staying in this evening to watch "Ten More Good Years"--Michael Jacoby interviews four senior citizens who are gay--not that I don't know anything about that but I like to compare my life with others--it is on the Sundance Channel on cable at 9 PM (EST)

I miss a good deli...even the best ones that used to be in Providence have given way to other things. There's still a few, but not like before. Oh, great! Now you've got me in the mood for a deli sandwich...maybe one of those giant dill pickles or some garlic pickles on the side.

What's Pastrami? I know its a New York meat of some sort. I don't like corned beef at all. You and others on here have interesting food tastes ..give me a plain old PBJ or PB and honey sandwich anyday.

Yeah, me too. Drives my doc and staff crazy. One time 2.9, next month 2.1, back and forth, over and over - never know why, no external or internal changes.

that sandwich sounds wonderful martin! I am drooling all over my keyboard! I used to always eat chocolate at bedtime while reading. I switched my snack to popcorn and started losing weight. now I eat my chocolate earlier in the day.
