For whatever reason--and I couldn't track down where it started--I was getting emails asking why was I leaving blogster, what happened, etc. Must admit I was pleased with the 'don't leave' messages.

 First some blogging background and then I will explain what is going on--mainly for those who inquired.

I have been blogging for over 10 years on about 9-15 different sites of which 3-4 have disappeared. I started at blogster 8 (?) years ago. I started blogging as a substitute for all the years
that I have kept diaries taking up room in my closet with the notebooks.

As moderation is not in my vocabulary I would post at least 1 blog a day--go ahead and figure out how may blogs I have written in 10 years LOL At least 97% of them were original blogs with the other 3% C & P,
mainly regarding gay issues and/or writers. I recently started deleting
blogs here which is not an easy job! I also felt it was polite to
respond to anyone who left a comment and in most cases I did.

Though
I am retired I do live a fairly busy life and I found myself spending
5-6 hours on all the blog sites which is way too much blogging, reading
blogs, responding to blogs and comments so I have decided to cut back.

I
live on Social Security so money is scarce so there are some blogs I
must keep on working at. For 3 years now I have been compensated at broadwayshowbiz.com for writing theartre and movie reviews. There is also a site that I get paid for restaurant
reviews and one where I am compensated for what I spend on a meal. (I
always have a good laugh when a blogster gets snarky about my reviews for which I get paid and they, like that good old Scarlett are digging in the ground to get a turnip to eat! LOL)

Recently
I was approached to write a column--$40-50--each column for a new gay
'zine debuting either the end of this month or the beginning of next
month. (You gay bashing christians who are insulted when the accusation of being a homophobe is hauled at you "I'm not afraid of ho-mo-SEX-U-als" might like my first column based on what the term homophobia really means and does apply to you!) I immediately sent them 20 columns hoping hey will accept 2 or 3!

I also belong to a site where I get paid to write blogs just like I blog here.

the way, for those who are ready to call the IRS--and you know who you
are-- all this has been discussed with the resident apartment manager
here regarding the income and adjustment to my rent--sorry about
that--well, sorry you 'turning me in' would be a waste of time and sorry
that my rent will go up! LOL

I have had to make some adjustment in the time I spend on the Internet and where so I have
immediately listed 6 blogging sites that I will not be
posting/commenting anymore. I will continue posting blogs at 3 sites but
will be sparingly commenting or responding to comments. The bottom line
is I have to concentrate in the sites I am making money at--while
$2,000-3,000 extra a year will deprive me of certain things I am getting
now plus will increase my rent the net amount will make my life easier.

Regarding bloster--for
the next 2 weeks I will continue blogging as usual as I have some end
of the year posts and a couple the beginning of 2014 posts as record of
my diary. I will not be commenting except a quick word here or there and
I certainly won't be reading what I call the 'nasties' of blogster--that in itself will save a lot of time! LOL

After
that couple of weeks basically I will just be posting my food,
restaurant, movie and theatre reviews and won't be reading, or
commenting on, other blogs.

I don't send out porn though once in awhile I will send a joke but not
too often--I will also forward some interesting articles I come across.

Blogster,
to me, is the easiest place to blog, post pictures, etc., so I am glad I
found it 8 years ago but, more important, I met some extraordinary
people here who I have become friends---yes FRIENDS--with--by the same
token I have met some of the most obnoxious people here that I haven't
seen at other blog sites or was just lucky not to get involved with them
if they were there. I don't know of any other site where an individual
kept a copy of every  of my blogs and/or comments like some here have done!  LOL

 
Bottom line--I am not leaving blogster,
just cutting back and felt I owed the people who were concerned an
explanation--and in a away I am glad I disappointed other people and
took the smile off their faces. :O)
