Movie Theatre & Streaming Reviews May 2023 Part 2

1) "You Hurt My Feelings"--movie--1 hour & 33 minutes--playing in local theatres--Synopsis:-- centers on a novelist (Louis-Dreyfus) whose long-standing marriage is suddenly upended when she overhears her husband give his honest reaction to her latest book--
acting is good but what takes 93 minutes could/should have taken 30 minutes

2) "Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story"--Netflix--prequel series--6 episodes--5 hours & 40 minutes--Synopsis: Young Queen--reviewed in part 1--THE BEST CHAPTER OF THE SERIES!

3) "Miriam Margolyes: Almost Australian"--Netflix--documentary series--3 episodes--3 hours-- Synopsis: with her new Australian citizenship Miriam investigates what it means to be Australian by traveling all over the continent talking to local people--a fascinating country explored by a fascinating woman--she is a brash, forward, interested in people & who they are--Loved it!

4) "Firefly Lane"--Netflix--season '3'--last season--6 hours & 14 minutes--7 episodes--Synopsis: Tuly & Kate have been friends all their lives until now--this season is a lot better than season 1 which I watched and didn't care for but watched this to see how it ended--both actresses do a great job showing 3 decades of being friends--I even liked Katherine Heigl in this season--enjoyable.

5) "Citadel"--Prime Amazon--season 1--6 episodes--5 hours--Synopsis:--2 spies who have had their memories swiped join together to stop the organization that took their memory (don't ask!)--sci-fi, mystery, fights, space, storms, submarines, chases, jets--it is all here--as much as I like Priyanka Chopra I was bored by the 6th episode--Lesley Manville is a standout.

6) "The Glass Castle" Netflix--movie--2 hours & 7 minutes--based on a true story--Synopsis:--a successful NY writer tries to reconcile her well-ordered life with her nomadic childhood ruined by an unstable father--Woody Harrelson hams it up all over the place but it all pays off in the last 10 minutes--And you thought you had a troubled family!

7) "Triptych"--Netflix--series--season 1--8 episodes--5 hours & 43 minutes--Synopsis:--after finding out she is one of 3 triplets a relentless detective goes on a perilous journey to uncover the truth of her past--I am not usually into sci-fi but this kept me interested for all 5 hours & 43 minutes--aside from being an excellent crime story the 'magic' of having one actress play all 3 sisters and even showing them in scenes together makes it worth seeing!

8) "Missing: Dead or Alive"--Netflix--documentary series--4 episodes--3 hours & 10 minutes-- Synopsis:--follow officers from a South Carolina sheriff's department as they urgently look for individuals who mysteriously disappeared--there are 4 different stories and while each would have made a good movie this as a series falls flat & is almost boring.
