Allen called me around 5 PM and asked me a
really stupid question: "Do you want to go out to eat?" DUH!!! Have I
ever said no to that question???? We went to The Golden
Corral which was so busy they couldn't keep
up with the all/any of the foods on the buffet but I got my share!!!
This is the view from my windows facing north
though you don't see the canal behind the trees.
Looks like Allen and I are becoming
'regulars' at the Quarterdeck Restaurant. This past Wednesday we went
for their prime rib special--12 ounces for $9.99 I had the baked potato
as my side and he had the macaroni and
cheese. We then went back on Friday for their 'summer deals'--a main
course, a salad, a side dish and ice cream for dessert for $7.99. We both had the Chicken Francese though they added
onions which didn't add anything to the dish.
The 'uniform' in South Florida is shorts,
short sleeved shirts and flip-flops and as you can see I have the
flip-flops and these aren't all of them. I've added a new touch to the
uniform--the watches you see are just a few of those I bought at The
Dollar Tree store. I have had some of them since October and they are in
fine working order!
Last April I bought some seed packages also
at the Dollar store and like every week I get new blooms--too bad I
wasn't smart enough to keep the envelopes they came in though I do
recognize the marigolds!!
I wish I had a better camera as this week has
been a beauty at night with the full moon. Also when I turn out the
lights at night the moon lights up my living room.
We had beautiful 'tourist' weather here
today--bright sun, humidity not that high and a slight breeze--the pool
temperature had that slight chill when you first get in which in two
weeks will change and feel like bath water! I spent the afternoon at
the pool swimming and reading. As always wondered why with 260 people
living here how come there were only 4 of us at the pool which over
looks Karen bay and offers beautiful scenery of water, sky, sun, yachts
and million dollar+ homes? In any case Bobbi joined me and after taking
this picture I told her she was ready for Playboy--trust me, at 60
something women love compliments more than at 30 something.
Someday I will have to write about my
feelings regarding whether some one is born gay or chooses to be gay but
until then I wonder when my brother chose to be straight? We had the
same parents, lived in the same house, were brought up the same way and,
yet, today he and his wife celebrate their 56th (?) anniversary, they have 3 brilliant successful children who in turn
have given them grandchildren to dote on and I have been unable to sustain a
relationship with a partner trying to 4 times until I realized it wouldn't work for me.
HAPPY
ANNIVERSARY ROBERT AND CAROL!!
