As
I stated in the title I love Thursday when I have a car and today I had
Norman's car. For a couple of hours I felt free--I felt like if I
wanted to I could just do down Federal Highway to Key West though I
know I couldn't/wouldn't. Not only did I have a car but on Thursdays I
do one of my favorite things--of course it has to do with food--I go
grocery shopping. Some people say I am in a rut I see myself as
organized!
I
do have a shopping list and, usually, stick to it but I love wandering
up and down the lanes looking at what food I would buy if I had money
and could eat whatever I want and not gain weight!
I
started the day off by going to see my primary doctor, who after
poking, prodding and asking his questions decided I was doing okay. I
explained to him that I hadn't been to a doctor since July and that's
why I wasdoing so good. He said, "Martin, just keep on doing what you have been doing!" LOL
I
do go through the ads to see which store offers the best buys on which
objects I need/want. I went to Publix first and followed that going to
Winn-Dixie. I bought my staples and things on sale that I will eat by
next Thursday. After I went to my fun shopping--the dollar store.
A
huge new dollar store opened with a great food section--packages of 16
slices of cheese, a dozen eggs, assorted frozen dinners, ice cream,
packages of ham, just to name a few items all $1 each--and, of course,
my favorite 4 aisles which consists of candies, cookies, chips, nuts,
pretzels, popcorn--you name it and it is there. I bought a couple of
items for the breezeway get together this evening and a treat for
Carol, the security guard and, oh yes, a couple of items for me!
After
that I stopped at the bank to pay off my credit card so I don't owe
anything and then it was off to Hess to replace the couple of gallons
of gas I had used.
I
came home and made a couple of ham and cheese sandwiches--can't tell
you the last time I had that--oh yes I can--New Year's weekend 1999 but
that's another blog--checked some e-mail and then went down to the breezeway.
Yes, a car and food and Thursday--a good day!
