“90210” to reveal gay
male lead.
This fall the struggling CW reinvention of 90210 is
going to out one of three hunky male characters.  Although the show
experienced a significant dip in the ratings last season, the producers
promise that the gay storyline is not a ratings stunt.

“We
want to address the issue in a real and relatable way,” executive
producer Jennie Urman EW.com . The show tested the gay waters with last
season’s Adrianna/Gia relationship that ended, not surprisingly, in a
heterosexual love triangle.

The three guys in question—or should we
say questioning—are Teddy, Navid and Liam.  According to EW.com one of
these studs will come out as “actually gay.”

Baseball as a political predictor?
Last Tuesday’s Major League Baseball All-star game ended the 13-year
losing streak for the National League team—they pulled out a 3-1 victory
over the American League.

According to Politico writer David Strauss, the game is a
consistent predictor for the midterm election results: “According to an
analysis by University of Minnesota professor Eric J. Ostermeier, who
writes the Smart Politics blog, a National League victory in the
Mid-Season Classic has preceded every election with double-digit GOP
House gains since 1950.”  A similar pattern can be seen in Senate
numbers as well.

It
is a curious correlation, but we’ll have to wait for the poll results
to confirm if this year’s National League win predicted a GOP power
surge.

Freedom to Marry kicks off summer tour.   If you are
looking for a way to show your support for gay marriage this summer,
Freedom to Marry, the campaign to win marriage equality nationwide, has a
solution.  The organization kicked off their Summer for Marriage tour
today.

Freedom
to Marry teamed up with local, state and national partners to spread
the word and gain support for same-sex marriage.  The tour began with a
press conference Wednesday in Augusta, Maine, and will make its way
across the country with family oriented events and rallies through
August.

The tour comes a in response to the National Organization
for Marriage
’s anti-gay bus tour entitled “One man, one woman.”

Fox
News on LiLo and Lesbian gangs.
According to Fox News , Lindsay Lohan will receive a
not-so-welcome gift from her future cell block peers.

Their
source, Tamara Haley, 38, who is doing time for heroine possession and
prostitution, says that rumors are flying around the Lynwood
correctional facility that Lohan is in high demand.

She told a
reporter, “Everyone will want a piece of her. It will make them famous
if they hurt Lindsay Lohan.  Or if you get her to cry, the whole ward
will laugh and people will love it—even the guards.”

Haley also
warned of “lesbian gangs” that wear their shirts inside out as a sign of
their same-sex availability, saying, “if Lindsay doesn’t want someone
to grab her ass she’d better keep her shirt on straight.”

Although Fox’s
coverage of the story is somewhat laughable, prison violence is no

‘Kids Are All Right’ makes box office history!

, 365gay.com

“The Kids” win big. Lisa Cholodenko’s
critically acclaimed film “The Kids Are All Right” was a box office smash in
its highly anticipated debut.  The family dramedy stars Annette Bening
and Julianne Moore as a lesbian couple raising teenagers in suburban Los
Angeles. Opening nationally July 9 on seven screens, the film grossed
$505,000 this weekend. According to the Los Angeles Times , “Kids” had the highest
performance of any 2010 release to date with a $72,143 per screen
average. Apparently, the kids are more than all right!

Fergie
speaks out.
Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie thinks President Obama
should offer more support for marriage equality.

The fergilicious
singer sat down with New Music Express where she gave a personal
evaluation on the President’s performance thus far.

“He’s a great
speaker and I myself got to go to the White House,” she said.” But I
wish he would do more for gay marriages though. That’s the one thing I
want to happen!”

Marital
Woes.
Last week, 365gay reported that Popular costar Tammy
Lynn Michaels filed for the dissolution of her marriage with singer
Melissa Etheridge. This week, an LA Superior Court judge has denied
Michael’s request for full physical custody of the couples two children
and $25,000 in spousal support.
According to TMZ , “Tammy’s lawyer wanted the judge to order
Melissa to immediately pay 25k to his client, whom he claims is
destitute. The lawyer wanted another 25k from Melissa for legal fees,
but Melissa’s attorney, Neal Hersh, convinced the judge Melissa was
paying for everything — housing, food, schools, the works — so Tammy’s
claim that she can’t afford to live is bogus.”

The couple is
expected to return to court in September.

XY Magaizine goes bankrupt. “XY Magazine”
filed for bankruptcy earlier this year. Now, the gay teen mag is looking
to sell its database of one million users to creditors.

The
Federal Trade Commision is concerned that the sale of the database
“could violate federal law,” BBC reports. Other opponents argue that the sale of
the database would violate the privacy of thousands of young gay men.

“The
selling off of private information, gathered under the supposition of
privacy, is bad enough,” wrote Curt Hopkins, a in an article for
technology blog ReadWriteWeb . “And positively untenable when the
information is connected to kids who are dealing with a dawning sexual
reality that in some instances is even more fraught than what straight
kids go through.”

Prop
Infinity.
A new episode of the comedy central series FuturamaNOM Gathering Storm ad against legalizing Prop
Infinity – a legislation that will allow robots and humans to wed.
features a political debate on Robosexual
Marriage. In the clip, resident robosexual Bender speaks out against a
spoof of the
“This
is a simple mater of justice, which I’m not normally for,” he says.
“After all, our love isn’t any different from yours. Except, it’s hotter
‘cuz I’m in it!”
